Our Story
Hi! We're Connor and Madeline Carr, the husband-and-wife team behind The Little Oven That Could, LLC.
For as long as she can remember, Madeline has dreamed of owning a bakery. She has always believed that some of the best ways to care for people are through warm bread, homemade treats, and a welcoming table. We never imagined that dream would become reality, but life had other plans.
After years of navigating chronic illnesses, we began searching for ways to better support our health and discovered fresh-milled flour. What started as an experiment quickly became a lifestyle. The very first loaf opened our eyes to what bread was always meant to be.
Today, everything we bake begins with whole wheat berries that we mill ourselves. We found that eating fresh-milled flour left us feeling more energized, thinking more clearly, and enjoying bread in a whole new way. We fell in love with both its incredible flavor and the simple, wholesome nutrients behind it.
That experience inspired us to share it with others.
We chose the name The Little Oven That Could because it reflects our own story. Like the little engine, we believe in perseverance, optimism, and serving others with whatever we've been given. We may have a little oven, but we have big dreams—to bring handcrafted, nourishing baked goods to families throughout our community.
Every item is made in small batches with fresh-milled flour, whole ingredients, and the kind of care we'd use if we were baking for our own family. Madeline develops each recipe and lovingly oversees every bake, while Connor manages the business and photography that shares our story.
Whether you're here because you're curious about fresh-milled flour or simply looking for exceptional baked goods, we're honored you've stopped by. We hope that with every bite, you'll taste the difference—and feel the care that went into making it.
From our little oven to your table, welcome.
